Here are the major point I would like to address in the paper:

- Citizen science introduction with successful example.

- Major challenges in Citizen science. Highlighting the know how and the availability of tools allowing the creation of project without software skills. Need of references.

- Existing toolkits and how the have been focused on guide lines, focusing more on the know how than providing the right toold to delevelp the project.

- The SDG solution kit

Directions in Hybrid Intelligence: Complementing AI Systems with Human Intelligence

https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/38b5/fec2730e4e3224d974694d4b3522c0778e45.pdf?_ga=2.130732687.1237476226.1576098688-573507811.1565599928

Hybrid intelligence systems combine machine and human intelligence to overcome the shortcomings of existing AI systems. This paper reviews recent research efforts towards developing hybrid systems focusing on reasoning methods for optimizing access to human intelligence and on gaining comprehensive understanding of humans as helpers of AI systems. It concludes by discussing short and long term research directions.

From Interaction to Intervention: An Approach for Keeping Humans in Control in the Context of socio-technical Systems

https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/2188/6640d275a2f58123a6eab4818bf16255077a.pdf?_ga=2.54745515.1237476226.1576098688-573507811.1565599928

This paper transfers the concept of human-computer intervention in the context of routinized socio-technical processes. Intervening interaction is defined as activities that alter the behaviour of a process that is regularly highly automated and /or continuously proceeds according to a plan. Rules and principles of interaction design and socio-technical design are taken into consideration to derive hints and requirements of how intervention interfaces should be designed in the socio-technical context.

Towards Effective Human-AI Teams: The Case of Collaborative Packing (Manipulated decisions - Can be thought the other way)

https://arxiv.org/pdf/1909.06527.pdf

We focus on the problem of designing an artificial agent (AI), capable of assisting a human user to complete a task. Our goal is to guide human users towards optimal task performance while keeping their cognitive load as low as possible. Our insight is that doing so requires an understanding of human decision making for the task domain at hand. In this work, we consider the domain of collaborative packing, in which an AI agent provides placement recommendations to a human user. As a first step, we explore the mechanisms underlying human packing strategies. We conducted a user study in which 100 human participants completed a series of packing tasks in a virtual environment. We analyzed their packing strategies and discovered spatial and temporal patterns, such as that humans tend to place larger items at corners first. We expect that imbuing an artificial agent with an understanding of this spatiotemporal structure will enable improved assistance, which will be reflected in the task performance and the human perception of the AI. Ongoing work involves the development of a framework that incorporates the extracted insights to predict and manipulate human decision making towards an efficient trajectory of low cognitive load and high efficiency. A follow-up study will evaluate our framework against a set of baselines featuring alternative strategies of assistance. Our eventual goal is the deployment and evaluation of our framework on an autonomous robotic manipulator, actively assisting users on a packing task.

Hybrid geo-information processing: Crowdsourced supervision of geo-spatial machine learning tasks

https://ris.utwente.nl/ws/files/28200957/Ostermann2015hybrid.pdf

This paper introduces an approach to crowdsource the supervision of machine learning classification and regression tasks in order to process geo-social media streams. It builds on a review and comparison of four existing approaches to process geo-social media streams in order to identify specific opportunities and challenges. An original conceptual framework situates the machine learning tasks within a geoinformation processing workflow. The paper presents and discusses concrete techniques and software solutions for implementing it.

Crowd intelligence in AI 2.0 era
The Internet based cyber-physical world has profoundly changed the information environment for the development of artificial intelligence (AI), bringing a new wave of AI research and promoting it into the new era of AI 2.0. As one of the most prominent characteristics of research in AI 2.0 era, crowd intelligence has attracted much attention from both industry and research communities. Specifically, crowd intelligence provides a novel problem-solving paradigm through gathering the intelligence of crowds to address challenges. In particular, due to the rapid development of the sharing economy, crowd intelligence not only becomes a new approach to solving scientific challenges, but has also been integrated into all kinds of application scenarios in daily life, e.g., online-to-offline (O2O) application, real-time traffic monitoring, and logistics management. In this paper, we survey existing studies of crowd intelligence. First, we describe the concept of crowd intelligence, and explain its relationship to the existing related concepts, e.g., crowdsourcing and human computation. Then, we introduce four categories of representative crowd intelligence platforms. We summarize three core research problems and the state-of-the-art techniques of crowd intelligence. Finally, we discuss promising future research directions of crowd intelligence.
