A platform for students to connect directly to get and/or give help!

We actually participated in a challenge before this one but didn't manage to get through to the funding stage. However Akeaba introduced the O17 challenge to Tenzin and I and we decided that we wanted to give it another shot. So we took our idea and modified it to fit this challenge instead.

  • After we developed the idea, we went ahead and applied for the O17 Summer Challenge in hopes to gain the resources to be able to develop the project and learn how to execute it properly!
  • Thankfully, We got in!
  • This was the beginning of growth for our team, our project and ourselves.

We came into this project as a team of three (Akeaba, Tenzin and Xavissa) but we gained a new team member this week! We are happy to welcome Alejandra into our project!

Alejandra's project of a tinder type app for students to be able to find peers of similar interests and be able to collaborate on projects together worked really well with our idea to match students together to get help with school work.

  • With Alejandra now on the team, we went over our respective projects and figured out how to merge them
  • We also discussed how we wanted to be as a team in terms of punctuality and respectfulness
  • And we also shifted around the project idea to make it a cohesive project

  • The end of this week came rather quickly and the final pitch was right around the corner. Uh oh.
  • We had just finished forming the team and we hadn't figured out all the specifics.
  • It was quite nerve wracking to have to present our idea when we didn't have a lot figured out, but it seems to have gone well!
  • We got good feedback on our presentation skills and idea.
  • Now it's time to work!

This week we had workshops tailored to help us figure out the problem we're trying to tackle, how to fully define our problem and also how to pitch our idea.

  • Pitch #2 went really well for us! Although there was not much progress between the two weeks, we still managed to be chosen as the best group out of our category!
  • That really gave us the boost we needed to be more ambitious with our project.
  • Next week the judging will be even stricter, so we really need to step up our game and produce something tangible to the judges.
